Experiencing Oktoberfest at Paulaner Bräuhaus Jakarta

As a huge fan of all-things Germany, I was truly pleased when I got a chance to experience the Oktoberfest. Actually, Paulaner Bräuhaus Jakarta hold this annual event every year, however the ticket price is quite expensive. This year, it costed IDR 800.000 for each person. One day, the managing editor that I am working with got a media invitation for attending the beer festival at Paulaner Bräuhaus Grand Indonesia on Thursday night, 4 October 2018. She asked me whether I would like to join the celebration or not. Without a doubt, my answer was a big YES.
The event started at 06.30 PM but we could not fulfill the German strict rule in timing as there were some things to do in the office that day. So this time, please allow us to neglect that punctuality law. We arrived at Grand Indonesia about 30 minutes late, which means we got there at around 07.00 PM. I also invited my best friend to join the celebration and we met there. We got in and of course, it was free.
As we got in, a waiter greeted and escorted us to a specific row of table that had been prepared for the invitee. The venue was decorated in blue and white ribbon, as well as numerous flags with the same colors accross the room. Yap, these colors represents the Bavarian flags since the Oktoberfest is originally started in this state. The music was loud and I saw there were a group of foreign musicians (I heard they came from Austria, tho) who were ready to entertain us all night long. The attendances were quite fair I supposed, as there were many Jakarta people as well as the foreigners fulfilling the spaces and sharing laughter. Later as those musicians took the stage, the light turned dim and they started singing German songs!
